The Contest

Since we are attemtping the AKTA rules this year, the first hurdles to overcome,were converting the feet-distances into our meters. A seemingly simple task, but anyway raising quite some discussion.

Workshop

When the contest was over, the throwing went on in the workshop, where everybody showed his/her specialities, and much know how was exchanged. And of course we made much fun.

Dieter showed us throwing from the ground and throws backward. As well he brought his atlatl with him and demonstrated some throws with it. As well he is a knife maker and has brought a suitcase full of self made knives, which he will show us later.

Michael explained us his sophisticated theory about the relation between turns and distance, and he demonstrated us the functionality of this considerations.

Franz was lazy, otherwise he would have continued his experiments with throwing the skyth.

Each throw counted maximum 3 points. Each participant had 10 x 4 throws in each diszipline, this makes 40 throws with 120 points maximum. The maximum points in 3 disciplines were 360. 1 ft is 0.3048 m.

Expert Talkings

Now comes the comfortable part. The day was really hot, and we enjoy the dawn. The Bratwuerste are on the grill, the stock bread is beaking over the fire, the beer is cool, the moon shines ... the night becomes long.
