During the last years, we succeeded in establishing throwers meetings as new popular events. Die letzten Jahre haben wir Werfertreffen als neue populäre Veranstaltungen etabliert.

And this year? What about founding a thrower's association? Ha! This was the question of last year. This year the answer: we did it! On August 31rd in Müncheberg with 16 foundation members from Germany and France. Our friends from Denmark, Spain, Italy and Poland could not come, but were engaged as well. Und heuer? Wie wäre es, eine Werfer-Vereinigung zu gründen? Ha! Das war die Frage letztes Jahr. Heuer die Antwort: wir haben es getan! Am 31. August in Müncheberg mit 16 Gründungsmitgliedern aus Frankreich und Deutschland. Unsere Freunde aus Dänemark, Spanien, Italien und Polen konnten leider nicht kommen, aber sie waren ebenfalls engagiert.

What? Was?

We are going to be an official association to represent the art and sport of axe and knife throwing. Wir werden ein offizieller Sportverein für die Disziplinen Axt- und Messerwerfen sein.

Why? Warum?

Because all others sports have such associations, only we not. Hahaha, this would not be a reason! But this are reasons: Weil alle anderen Sportarten so etwas haben, nur wir nicht. Hahaha, das wäre kein Grund! Aber das sind Gründe:
 

• Many throwers want sometimes meet their collegues for know how exchange. Viele Werferinnen und Werfer möchten gelegentlich ihre Kolleginnen und Kollegen treffen um Erfahrungen auszutauschen.
   
• Many folks are interrested in throwing, but learning it is not so easy. A group can help beginners over the start barriers. Viele Leute sind am Werfen interressiert, aber das zu lernen ist nicht so einfach. Eine Gruppe kann Anfängern über die Startschwierigkeiten hinweghelfen.
   
• Many more throwing events wait for being initialized. An association can encourage and consult future conductors. Viele Werf-Veranstaltungen warten darauf, neu angezettelt zu werden. Eine Vereinigung kann Veranstalter ermutigen und beraten.
   
• Since knives can be viewed as weapons, it is necessary to watch the law and it's development (e.g. throwing stars being prohibited in Germany). We want to spread and protect our sport as an official discipline. Weil Messer als Waffen betrachtet werden können, ist es notwendig, Gesetze zu beachten und zu beobachten (z.B. Wurfsterne werden in Deutschland verboten). Wir wollen unseren Sport als offizielle Disziplin
   
• In some countries throwing knives are not allowed at all. For them the other countries might play a kind of ice breaker. In manchen Ländern sind Wurfmesser überhaupt nicht erlaubt. Für die könnten die anderen Länder eine Art Eisbrecher-Rolle spielen.
   
• Knive throwers suffer often under the prejudices of the normal people, who have hair-raising wrong ideas about throwing. This wrong public picture we want correct. Messerwerfer leiden oft unter den Vorurteilen der normalen Leute, die haarsträubende Assoziationen haben. Dieses schiefe Bild wollen wir etwas geraderücken.

Who? Wer?

The organization shall serve all European axe and knive throwers. Die Organisation soll allen Europäischen Axt- und Messerwerfern dienen.

How? Wie?

We will see. This is the first fast written proposal. During the year the page will grow and details will be worked out, depending on your feedback. Wir werden sehen. Dies ist der erste schnell geschriebene Vorschlag. Im Lauf des Jahres wird die Seite wachsen und Details werden herausgearbeitet, abhängig von Ihren Rückmeldungen.
